A meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on Thursday, February 27, at 4
There were present only Miss Loring and Mr. Small; consequently all action was taken
to the approval of the Board at its next meeting.
The report of the Secretary was read and approved.
The report of the Committee on Circulation, recommending the purchase of 141 titles and the
receipt of 166 gifts - nearly all for the Farms Branch - was accepted.
Voted, also, that the thanks of the Trustees be extended for the gifts received.
Mr. Small presented the monthly statement of the Finance Committee, and reported progress
of the budget in the hands of the City Government. Voted: that this report be accepted.
Miss Stanton then spoke of the need of certain reference books recommended by Mr. Frank
Chase of the Boston Public Library, at the last meeting of the Massachusetts Library Club, and it was
voted to purchase the new editions of the Encyclopaedia Britannica and one hundred dollars worth
of other books from Mr. Chase' s list.
