The regular meeting of the Board was held on Thursday evening, January 27, with Mr.
Delaney, Mrs. Conrad and Messrs. Foster and Small in attendance.
The records of the meeting of December 30 were read and approved, as was the summary of
expenditures and balances for the year 1948.
Mr. Delaney presented the survey which had been made by Cleverdon, Varney & Pike of
Boston of the needed repairs at the Farms Branch, and explained the details of the costs of the various
items, and it was voted that a copy of this be taken to the Mayor so that he could study it in
connection with his consideration of the budget.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 23 1 books and the acceptance
of 32 gifts.
The report of the Librarian, giving a summary of the year' s activities was read and placed on
file.
At the request of Mrs. Palmer, it was voted that the Library pay the insurance on the car,
which is being used to take books to shut-ins - this to be taken from Trust Funds. Voted to adjourn
