MINUTES

PRESENT: J. Frates, D. Neuman, A. Wheelock, C. Raymond, M. Troubetaris,
J. Murray
GUESTS: L. Bochynski, M. Henebury, and Members of Chamber of Commerce
Chairman Frates opened the meeting.
He stated that we should talk about bom length and the rates at both marinas for the
summer.
L. Bochynski recommended that a 5% increase at both marinas would be his
recommendation. He stated that in 2000, Port Marina was $92.00 for a boat of 24' to 29',
and we are presently at $84.00 for the pleasure boats. After much discussion, M.
Troubetaris made a motion to set the fee for the Glover Marina at $89.00 per foot for the
summer of 2002. D. Neuman seconded, and all 6 were in favor.
D. Neuman made a motion to increase the commercial fee to $50.00 from $47.25. M.
Troubetaris seconded, and all 6 were in favor.
As for boat length, D. Neuman mated that the facilities manager should configure the
Marina.
D. Neuman msde a motion to accept T. Sauvageau's 42' boat in place of the existing
boat. T. Wheelock seconded, and all 6 were in favor.
D. Neuman stated that the Marina regulations need to be upaated.
L. Bochynski told that the floats have been cleaned, and the company did a good job. He
also stated that Port Marina placed some moorings instead of being tangled in our
moorings.
D. Neuman checked with Vine Assoc. on the $45,000.00. Should have report by end of
February. They are studying the cost offender Systems and Handicapped Access.
D. Neuman checked with DEP on the Test Borings in the Bass River. Nothing yet.
D. Neuman spoke of the adjudicatory hearing 2 weeks ago. J. Frates, C. Raymond, D.
Neuman, P. Gilmore, Mr. Thibodeau and his attorney attended. The Kinzie's had a plan.
Many things did not qualify for amnesty. The Judge gave DEP 2 weeks. There is a trial
date in July. The Judge will visit the site in March.
J. Frates and D. Neuman met with the Mayor on Monday.
D. Neuman saw the Harbor Plan recently.
A. Wheelock says that the "Eagle" is coming to Salem August 14, 15, & 16. It will
hopefully circle through Beverly.
R. Costa just came in and stated that he attended a meeting. S. Kinzie would like to
eliminate the Federal Channel
D. Neuman asked if he meant the DPA. He stated that the DPA is in place and should
stay in place until proper zoning is in place.
J. Murray made a motion to adjourn. D. Neuman seconded and all agreed.
