MINUTES
January 3, 2002
Beverly Public Library
PRESENT: J. Frates, A. Wheelock, T. Birner, C. Raymond
GUESTS: 2 Members of the Chamber of Commerce, & T. Sauvageau
T. Sauvageau, one of the fishermen, asked for permission to tie up her new boat, due to
be launched tomorrow, even though it is 42' long. She claims that she never gets a
straight answer.
J. Frates spoke of the grant for the study of the configuration. Would like to have
emphasis on floats instead of other things. J. Frates will look into the matter, but thinks
that we can accommodate the 42'.
J. Frates stated that we have 3 or 4 openings on the board. He would prefer the new
Mayor make the appointments.
He stated that over the last couple of years we have been aware of Public Access. We
have the bridge at Cummings Center and the pilings for the boardwalk. The State
Agencies can't come together and agree on this boardwalk.
He stated that the Grant & Seaport are providing the contractors.
He also stated that the Creamery Property can be used for parking, and he thinks that the
Ventron property will be available soon.
C. Raymond asked about a time limit on this study.
J. Frates believes that there is a llmit.
C. Raymond would like to incorporate the access map into the Master Plan.
A gemieman from the Chamber of Commerce stated that there is a Steering Committee
meeting on the 10th of this month at the Library @ 7:00 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
