Doug Hating calls the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
1. HarrV's 240 / 240 Rantoul Street / Ellen O'Connor - Sign
Ellen O'Connor appears before the board regarding review of awning sign. Ms.
O'Connor states the color scheme consists of 'forest green' background and 'sweet butter
yellow' letters. Ms. O'Connor states the type of awning being proposed is a waterfall
awning.
Mr. Hating makes a motion to approve the awning plan, seconded by Ms. O'Brien. All
in favor, motion carries.
Ms. O'Brien informs the applicant that if there is anything out of the ordinary, the
building inspector may instruct the applicant to go before the Zoning Board.
2. Lindt Chocolate / 48 Dodge Street / Signsystems, Inc. - Sign
Paul Smith from Signsystems, Inc. appears before the board on behalf of the applicant.
Mr. Smith states the wall sign is three dimensional with individual channelized lit letters.
Mr. Hating asks if the lights will be turned offat~er the close of business. Mr. Smith
responds in the affirmative. Mr. Haring asks what the background color of the sign will
be. Mr. Smith responds that it will be blue.
Mr. Haring makes a motion to approve the sign, seconded by Ms. O'Brien. All in favor,
motion carries.
3. Dr. David Cormier / 361 Cabot Street / Sign
Mr. Cormier appears before the board regarding review of a sign. Mr. Haring asks how
close is the sign to a window. Mr. Cormier responds that it is 5 to 6 feet away from the
window and it does not block the window. Mr. Cormier states the letters are gold with

black trim and the background of the sign is gray. Mr. Cormier states the tooth on the
sign is raised.
Mr. Haring makes a motion to approve the sign, seconded by Ms. O'Brien. All in favor.
motion carries.
4. Nancy Molllia / 386 Cabot Street / SiRn
Ms. Moglia appears before the board to review proposed sign. Ms. Moglia is proposing a
new sign to replace the existing ones. Ms. Moglia states that the building inspector told
her to put up caution tape and get the sign approved by the Design Review Board. Ms.
Moglia states the sign has been there for many years.
Mr. Haring asks if the banner is vinyl. Ms. Moglia responds that it is. Ms. Moglia states
the sign is very old and she does not have the money for a new one.
Mr. Haring states the only issue is whether the sign is above or below the roo~ine. Ms.
Moglia states she does not think it is above the roof.
Ms. O'Brien asks if the proposed changes are ok with Mr. Brennan. Mr. Haring states he
has a letter from Mr. Brennan stating he is ok pending review of the Design Review
Board.
Mr. Hating states he does not object because the sign is already there. Mr. Haring states
he is comfortable and willing to approve it.
Ms. O'Brien states banners are usually temporary and informs the applicant she should
clarify the time limit.
Mr. Haring makes a motion to approve modifications to the sign, seconded by Ms.
O'Brien. All in favor, motion carries.
5. Cassis Bakery / 261-263 Cabot Street / Modified Plans
Mr. Oratovsky appears before the board regarding review of the modified plans for
Cassis Bakery.
Mr. Oratovsky states the color of the siding is medium gray. Mr. Oratovsky states the
trim is red (close to the color of the brick). Mr. Oratovsky states the plan also shows the
location of the dumpster and two means of egress.
Ms. O'Brien makes a motion to approve modified plans, seconded by Mr. Haring. All in
favor, motion carries.

6. Revised Site Plan for Dunkin Donuts / 112-114 Elliott Street
(The applicant was not present during this discussion).
Mr. Hating states he believes the applicant is trying to shrink the sign or change the color
to get more of a residential form.
Mr. Haring states he is in favor of one (1) wall sign and one (1) flee standing sign as
indicated on the plan.
Mr. Haring makes a motion to approve the revised site plan for Dunkin Donuts, seconded
by Ms. O'Brien. All in favor, motion carries.
